EXPERIENCE

He served as a reporter for the First Court of Administrative Litigation from 1999 to 2000. He has been a trustee in bankruptcy cases involving high-value processes, particularly for companies manufacturing supplies for the oil industry, a major Venezuelan airline, and the largest paper production company and associated products in South America at the time of its operational cessation. He was an Accidental Superior Judge in Civil and Commercial matters, an Associate Superior Judge, and a reassessing judge. He was appointed as a mediator by the Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Caracas.

He has drafted opinions submitted to the District Court of the United States for the District of Connecticut and to the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. He has co-authored opinions presented in insurance law matters before the High Court of Justice (Queen’s Bench Division) in London, United Kingdom. He led the team of lawyers appointed by the reinsurer to address various claims related to aviation accidents and has handled lawsuits arising from the most significant aviation accident in the history of commercial aviation in Venezuela.

Advisory in litigation processes related to civil, commercial, banking, and family law. Advisory in judicial processes involving insurance and reinsurance companies in various legal actions, especially concerning property damage and liability arising from economic activities linked to the aviation, pharmaceutical, automotive, and food industries. Commercial arbitration and mediation in commercial matters, construction contracts, engineering, and procurement for petrochemical and industrial plants in general.

Advisory on civil and commercial matters, studying and drafting all types of contracts. This includes assistance in property issues, possession, establishment and enforcement of guarantees in matters involving multiple jurisdictions and syndicated financing. Representation in procedures for the protection of intellectual property rights, as well as enforcement actions for trademark infringement and copyright. Advisory and extrajudicial representation in matters related to aviation and maritime accident claims.

RECOGNITIONS

Currently, and for the past six years (2013-2019), he has been recognized in Chambers Global and Chambers Latin America for his expertise and outstanding performance in the areas of Litigation, Procedural Law, and Dispute Resolution.

Similarly, he has been acknowledged for his excellent work in this field by Latin Lawyers 250 from 2012 to 2014. He has been distinguished in the Who’s Who Legal of Aviation Lawyers, an independent research guide among relevant clients in the field and specialized firms, on several occasions.
